TDAS Prototype
GOAL
Design an accessible, intuitive interface for TDAS (Turbine Data Acquisition System)—an internal data acquisition platform for USTA that could later be sold to other companies and organizations conducting similar engine testing. The interface needed to let any user, regardless of technical or educational background, confidently start, end, and review a new engine test.
SOLUTION
Conduct UX research into comparable data platforms and user workflows to inform the redesign. Produce four polished, wireframed mockups, including variants, that establish clear brand identity and tone. Prototype built for a dual-monitor setup with a 5:4 aspect ratio, with simplified navigation and language designed to lower the learning curve.
RESULT
User tested with USTA employees, who reported the new design and flow was significantly easier to use in day-to-day operations, with overall positive feedback.
